Why We Create
Rooted in creativity and collaboration, BeauFolio Studio offers art consultancy, special commissions, and workshop gatherings that bring vision and imagination to life.
We believe…
-
BeauFolio artists and collaborators view creativity is an act of with-ness—a way of witnessing wonder and sparking connection in community. We believe that to create is to draw out the sacred in each of us and beyond us.
-
Art is more than decoration—it’s revelation. Whether in CreatioDivina gatherings, on wooden pews, or in vast galleries, art awakens imagination and invites us to know differently.
-
Rooted in konbit—a Haitian ethos of communally shared labor—sacred creativity at BeauFolio exists in community. Collaboration shapes how we lead, strategize, and what we make together. Our “we” includes you.
Our Community
Carmelle Beaugelin Caldwell
Carmelle Beaugelin Caldwell is an interdisciplinary artist, visual theologian, and organizational leader who has spent over a decade trailblazing new ways to support leaders and organizations in creative strategies toward thriving communities.
She is the founder of BeauFolio Studio, an art consultancy and collaborative practice partnering with artists and organizations to cultivate meaning through sacred art. Carmelle holds a Master of Divinity (2018) from Princeton Theological Seminary, where she served as the 2025–2026 Artist in Residence and Visiting Scholar at the Overseas Ministries Study Center. Her work is held in the permanent collections of Princeton Theological Seminary, Interfaith America, and Duke University.
A sought-after keynote and workshop presenter, Carmelle has led keynotes and workshops at institutions including the University of Texas at Austin, Georgetown University, the Lilly Endowment, and the National Youth Workers Weekend in England. She regularly returns as a proud alumna to Princeton Seminary to lead CreatioDivina art workshops for women in executive leadership through the Iron Sharpening Iron program and the Women's Alumni Network. Her signature message is that a personal creative practice is a key foundation to integrated, effective leadership, inviting leaders to bring their full selves from the art studio, to the pulpit, to the boardroom.
Carmelle currently serves as Associate Director of Grants at Flagler College's Center for Religion and Culture in Saint Augustine, Florida and as Vice-Chair of the Board of Artworks Trenton. She believes creativity is at the center of making good news happen, and that leaders who cultivate a personal creative practice leave with a renewed sense of mission and the energy to meet whatever lies ahead.
